Capital Repair of the Premises on the First and Second Floors of the Pediatric Building for the Establishment of a Rehabilitation Department with an Outpatient Care Unit at the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Drohobych City Hospital No. 1”

Project Objective: The project will create modern and comfortable conditions for providing high-quality, accessible, and continuous rehabilitation care to military and civilian patients in accordance with current medical practice standards.
Relocating the inpatient rehabilitation department with an outpatient care unit to the new premises will:
● ensure modern conditions for rehabilitation care in accordance with international standards;● create a barrier-free environment and improve access to medical services for people with reduced mobility;● increase the efficiency of the rehabilitation process through a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach;● strengthen the community’s capacity to provide high-quality medical rehabilitation;● ensure comprehensive rehabilitation care for patients during the acute, post-acute, and long-term rehabilitation periods;● establish a system of continuous medical care, including all necessary diagnostic examinations without transporting patients to other facilities, timely consultations with physicians of related specialties, and the possibility of promptly transferring patients to specialized departments of the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Drohobych City Hospital No. 1” of the Drohobych City Council;● improve interaction between the hospital’s structural departments, contributing to more effective treatment and rehabilitation;● optimize staff operations, improve internal logistics, and increase the efficiency of using material, technical, and human resources.

Construction of a Covered Above-Ground Walkway Between Hospital Buildings

Project Objective: Creating a safe, comfortable, and functional covered walkway between the Surgical and Gynecology Buildings to ensure convenient year-round movement of patients, medical staff, and visitors.
The project will improve the internal logistics of the healthcare facility, reduce travel time between buildings, ensure barrier-free access, and enhance safety and comfort during patient transportation, including patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs.
Expected Result: A modern, functional walkway integrated into the existing architecture and site landscaping, providing uninterrupted connectivity between the buildings, protection from adverse weather conditions, and improved organization of the healthcare facility’s operations.

Reconstruction and Extension of the Pathology Department

Project Objective: Creating a modern, functional, and safe pathology department capable of ensuring high-quality and timely examinations and proper storage of specimens.
The project envisages the expansion and modernization of the pathology department, including increasing functional floor space, creating modern premises for pathological examinations, improving working conditions for medical staff, and ensuring compliance with appropriate sanitary, hygienic, and technical requirements.

Extension of the Therapeutic Building to Create Additional Inpatient Beds

Project Objective: Creating a modern stroke unit and increasing the number of inpatient beds to ensure timely and high-quality specialized medical care for patients with acute stroke.
The need for the project is driven by the growing number of patients with acute stroke and the increasing demand for specialized inpatient care. In 2025, the facility treated 804 stroke patients, placing additional pressure on the existing 40-bed stroke unit. The extension of the therapeutic building will create 17 additional beds and increase the overall capacity of the stroke unit. This will ensure appropriate conditions for timely treatment and round-the-clock patient monitoring while improving access to and the quality of specialized medical care.
The growing need for stroke care is also reflected at the national level: in 2025, the World Health Organization (WHO) separately noted an increase in stroke-related hospitalizations.

Purchase of Medical Equipment — X-Ray Therapy Unit

Project Objective: Installing a modern X-ray therapy unit in Drohobych. This will improve the effectiveness of treatment for patients from across the region and strengthen the healthcare facility’s capacity and reputation.
Currently, all oncology patients requiring radiotherapy have to seek treatment at centers in Lviv or neighboring regions, facing additional travel and logistical challenges. The average course of therapy lasts approximately one month, requiring patients either to stay away from their families or make daily trips to treatment sessions.

Capital Repair of the Operating Unit on the Fourth Floor of the Surgical Building

Project Objective: Carrying out capital repairs of the operating unit on the fourth floor of the Surgical Building to create modern, safe, and appropriate conditions for surgical procedures.
The project includes renovation of the operating unit premises, engineering networks, ventilation, lighting, and water supply systems; upgrading the facilities in accordance with modern sanitary, hygienic, and infection prevention requirements; and improving working conditions for medical staff.
